Maoz Muskal, a 49-year-old self-defense instructor and owner of SSC Tactical in South Florida, is charged with battery in connection to a domestic incident involving his girlfriend and her friend. Authorities report that during a confrontation in March, Muskal allegedly placed his girlfriend in a chokehold and punched her friend when she tried to intervene, prompting significant concern about his continued access to firearms despite facing criminal charges.

This incident raises pressing questions about the handling of domestic violence cases, as Muskal has been allowed to retain his guns—allegedly for work purposes—despite a judge’s recent no-contact order. Those close to the victims express outrage over the decision, emphasizing the potential dangers associated with keeping a trained firearm owner armed in light of such serious allegations.
