The 3-on-3 “Stop the Violence” basketball tournament, organized by her son Reynaldo López, aims not just to commemorate Miranda but also to tackle the broader issue of escalating gun violence in Hispanic communities, which has seen a surge of 5,747 victims in 2023 alone.
Miranda’s legacy lives on through this annual event, drawing around 40 teams from various regions to support the cause.
