Houston Police Shoot Suspect After SUV Chase Ends in Crash

A Houston police officer shot a man following a brief pursuit of a stolen SUV, which concluded in a crash on Highway 288 early Wednesday morning. The incident began when officers spotted the vehicle and initiated the chase, ultimately ending at the Tierwester Village Apartments when the suspect crashed just before midnight.

According to investigators, after exiting the stolen SUV, the suspect allegedly brandished a firearm, prompting one officer to fire and injure him. The suspect was taken to the hospital and is reported to be in critical condition as of Thursday morning. Police have recovered the weapon but are still investigating the full circumstances surrounding the chase and shooting.
