The organizers of the January 6 Awards Gala are facing scrutiny for boasting that Donald Trump’s song “Justice For All,” performed with the J6 Prison Choir, has gone platinum—a claim that is untrue. The song, which features the choir singing the “Star-Spangled Banner” while Trump recites the Pledge of Allegiance, does not appear on the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certification list, and officials confirm it hasn’t even reached gold status, which requires 500,000 unit sales.
This misleading assertion comes as the gala plans to auction a commemorative plaque to honor the song’s alleged success, aimed at raising funds for January 6 defendants. Originally set for Trump’s Bedminster golf course, the event has been postponed until after the November elections due to “security concerns,” further complicating its already controversial presentation. Organizers, including Stand In The Gap Foundation, are now left to clarify the legitimacy of both the song’s achievements and the awards they intend to present at the gala.
