John Rich Discusses Folds Of Honor

Country music artist and singer-songwriter John Rich is a steadfast supporter of our right to keep and bear arms, and he continues to reinforce the importance of the National Rifle Association and its work in preserving, protecting and defending the Second Amendment. But there are other causes near and dear to Rich’s heart, and among those is the mission of Folds of Honor.

“Folds of Honor is an organization in America that puts kids through college and spouses through college who either lost a family member or have a family member that’s 100 percent disabled,” Rich said. “And right now, there’s thousands of people going to college subsidized through the Folds of Honor.”

Rich routinely hosts fundraising events for Folds of Honor, and additionally, a portion of the profits of his Nashville, Tenn., businesses goes to fund Folds of Honor scholarships.

“To date, we’re at about $1.6 million that we’ve generated for Folds of Honor,” Rich said. “It’s a way to serve the people who served us. There’s no stronger way to say, ‘Thank you for your service,’ than to look after somebody’s kid.”

Since 2007, Folds of Honor has provided 52,000 scholarships to the spouses and children of fallen and disabled military members. Recently, the organization has expanded its mission to include families of America’s fallen and disabled first responders.
