Officers discovered an AR-style rifle and three handguns at the residence, leading to charges of Unlawful Carrying of a Handgun as a Level 5 felony, due to Lawhorn’s prior felony convictions that prohibit firearm possession under Indiana law.
The police were alerted by Lawhorn’s grandmother after a report of an unwanted guest, citing his verbally abusive behavior. A neighbor reported witnessing Lawhorn carrying firearms into the home, prompting the search where additional firearms-related evidence was found in his bedroom and a truck on the property, which raised concerns about firearm ownership and safety in the community.
