Havaldar Murali Naik’s last rites take place today, marked by a Gun Salute from police and military contingents in honor of the martyred soldier. Naik, who served in the Indian Army, made the ultimate sacrifice during Operation Sindoor at the Jammu and Kashmir border, reportedly neutralizing 15 adversaries in combat.

The ceremony, held between 11:30 AM and 12:00 PM, draws thousands from the region, with his body being taken from the Bangalore International Airport to his hometown of Kalli Tanda. The tribute reflects not only the profound loss felt by the community but also the national pride in Naik’s bravery, as singer Mangli encourages women to wear sindoor in remembrance of his sacrifice.
