The increasing presence of American M4 carbine assault rifles among terrorists in Jammu is raising alarm among defense experts, as these weapons have been used in several deadly attacks in the region. Notably, four police officers were killed in an incident where an M4 was employed, highlighting the lethal capabilities of these lightweight rifles that the Taliban left behind in Afghanistan and which have reportedly reached the hands of Pakistan-sponsored groups.

The first recorded use occurred in 2017, with subsequent recoveries escalating over the years, emphasizing a troubling trend in the operational capacity of these groups. As attacks utilizing the M4 proliferate, the challenge for security forces in the region intensifies.
