Man Sentenced to 10 Years for Stolen Guns After Chase

Derik Carothers, a 29-year-old from Washington, Pennsylvania, is sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for illegally possessing multiple firearms and ammunition, stemming from a high-speed chase in 2019. During the pursuit, which concluded with a violent rollover crash, police recovered four loaded guns, including two that were stolen, along with crack cocaine and a bulletproof vest.

The federal court found that Carothers’ extensive felony record, including previous firearm offenses, disqualified him from legal gun ownership.
