Meriden Man Sentenced for Gun Manufacturing Crimes

Meriden Man Sentenced for Gun Manufacturing Crimes

Jonathan Willette, a 34-year-old resident of Meriden, is sentenced to 20 years in prison, with 8 years to be served, for multiple gun-related offenses including manufacturing and selling firearms. The state prosecutor revealed that an investigation led to the discovery of eight Polymer 80 firearms, five fully automatic firearms, and an AK-47 assault-style rifle, all found during a police search of Willette’s home on June 23, 2022.

In addition to his illegal possession of weapons, authorities also seized tools for manufacturing firearms, which included drill presses and devices capable of converting semiautomatic guns into fully automatic ones. This significant case highlights ongoing concerns regarding illegal gun production and sales, especially given Willette’s prior felony conviction that barred him from owning firearms altogether.
