New video has emerged detailing the fatal shooting of 24-year-old Kristofer Lazaro Laboy by a Miami-Dade Sheriff’s deputy during an attempted traffic stop on June 17. The video, featuring both aerial and bodycam footage, illustrates the moments when Laboy allegedly fled from deputies and was subsequently shot after getting out of his vehicle and running toward them while armed.

Authorities assert that Laboy’s actions prompted the deputy to open fire, resulting in Laboy’s death from gunshot wounds, despite first aid attempts. The footage’s release follows family outrage and allegations that deputies failed to identify themselves, heightening tensions and prompting a Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigation into the shooting. The public response emphasizes the need for transparency, with calls for the complete release of all bodycam footage from the encounter.
