In a disturbing turn of events, three Milwaukee police officers are shot while responding to incidents involving domestic violence and fights within just two weeks. The Milwaukee Police Association is now reassessing their approach, with union president Alexander Ayala highlighting that domestic violence calls are amongst the most perilous, second only to active shooter situations.

Recent incidents, including the tragic shooting death of Officer Kendall Corder while attending to violent disputes, emphasize the need for a tactical reevaluation. Carmen Pitre, president of the Sojourner Family Peace Center, notes that such calls inherently carry high emotions, complicating law enforcement’s response. The Milwaukee Police Association is considering new training strategies to better prepare officers as they approach these volatile scenes.
