Over 20 Missouri sheriffs have united to form the Missouri Sheriffs’ Constitutional Firearms Alliance (MSCFA), aimed at promoting both responsible gun ownership and the protection of Second Amendment rights. President Chris Degase, the sheriff of Douglas County, emphasized that this new alliance seeks to challenge policies perceived as infringing on constitutional rights, stating, “the Constitution is not negotiable.”
The MSCFA plans to provide resources on firearm safety and collaborate with local communities to host training events. In a show of support for the initiative, local advocates, including gun owners and members of Moms Demand Action, expressed eagerness to partner with law enforcement to enhance community safety as the alliance addresses ongoing concerns over gun regulations and misuse of firearms.
