Montana Governor Targets Colorado Gun Manufacturers

Montana Governor Greg Gianforte actively seeks to attract gun manufacturers from Colorado following the enactment of Senate Bill 25-003, which imposes strict limitations on semi-automatic firearms. He labeled the new legislation, signed into law by Colorado Governor Jared Polis, as “one of the most restrictive gun bans ever adopted in the United States,” highlighting that the law not only bans the production and sale of certain weapons but also reinforces existing regulations on high-capacity magazines.

In a recent social media campaign, Gianforte urges Colorado-based gun firms, such as M+M Industries and Phoenix Weaponry, to consider moving to Montana, which boasts over 150 firearms and ammunition manufacturers—the highest per capita in the nation. He emphasizes Montana’s status as a constitutional carry state and its pro-business environment for the gun industry, seeking to position the state as a more favorable location for manufacturers feeling stifled by Colorado’s emerging regulations.
