The normally sedate rimfire world was recently shaken up by Winchester Ammunition’s announcement of the .21 Sharp, a new cartridge that is designed for higher performance and better bullet selection in an economical .22 LR-size case. Savage Arms was the first to jump on the .21 Sharp bandwagon with its new-for-2024 .21 Sharp offerings.

The design of the .21 Sharp allows it to be chambered in most firearms designed for the .22 LR and this is the path that Savage followed—initially offering four existing models in .21 Sharp. The first is based on Savage’s B-Series F rifle, with its target-style stock, tang-mounted safety, Accu-Trigger and 10-round rotary magazine. The B-Series F .21 Sharp rifle features a 21” barrel, full-size stock, right-hand action and all-black finish. It has an MSRP of $329.
The B-Series F offers a modular, target-type stock and rotary magazine in .21 Sharp.
Savage’s other three .21 Sharp models are based on popular Accu-Trigger Mark II models. The Mark II F .21 Sharp has a 21” barrel, synthetic stock, iron sights and and 10-round detachable box-magazine. It has an MSRP of $269.
The Mark II F is the most affordable .21 Sharp rifle offered by Savage, with an MSRP of $269.
The Savage Mark II FV-SR .21 Sharp is a suppressor-ready, varmint hunting model. Its 16.5” heavy barrel is fluted with its muzzle threaded 1/2 x 28 TPI. The action is fitted with an oversized bolt handle, five-round magazine and a one-piece Picatinny scope rail. It has an MSRP of $309.

The Savage Mark II Minimalist Green .21 Sharp uses the company’s Boyd’s Minimalist laminated wood stock. Its 18” Sporter-profile barrel has its muzzle threaded 1/2×28 TPI and the rifle features a 10-round magazine and comes with scope bases mounted. It has an MSRP of $389.
