For more than 60 years, Charter Arms has produced a lineup of innovative, simple, durable and affordable revolvers in New England’s historic “Gun Valley.” One of the company’s most successful models is its Pathfinder series of rimfire “kit guns” that is nearly as old as the company itself. New for 2025, the company is updating the model with the Pathfinder II.

Like all Charter Arms revolvers, the Pathfinder II is a double-action/single-action handgun with a swing-out cylinder that uses a one-piece frame. In the Pathfinder II’s case, the frame is made of 7075 aluminum and given an anodized finish. The cylinder, barrel and other major parts are made of stainless steel. Chambered in .22 Long Rifle, Pathfinder II revolvers have an eight-round capacity.

The Charter Arms Pathfinder II bridges the gap between the company’s compact and target-sized rimfire revolvers.

The Pathfinder II’s 3.5” full under-lug barrel is a compromise between the longer-barreled Pathfinder Target and the more compact Pathfinder revolvers, for a better-balanced and easier-to-handle revolver for all shooters. Sights are a pinned-in-place front aluminum ramp with a bright orange finish and a fully-adjustable rear.

The Pathfinder II is available with three finish options. These include a natural anodized frame and matte-finished barrel and cylinder, an OD green anodized frame with black passivated stainless steel parts, and an all-black model. Grips are a rubber, wrap-around design. The revolvers have an overall length of 7.45”, a height of 4.25” and weight of 20 ozs.

Charter Arms Pathfinder II revolvers have an MSRP of $511. The company continues to make other compact and .22 WMR-chambered versions of the Pathfinder, with plans to offer more Pathfinder II models in 2026. For more information on all of these models, see the company’s website.
