In an industry seemingly swamped by polymer-frame, semi-automatic pistols and modern sporting rifles, the shotgun still fills a niche as a self-defense and tactical firearms. A prolific manufacturer of scatterguns, Stoeger Industries recognizes this fact with its new-for-2025 M3000 Tactical and P3000 Tactical.

A subsidiary of the Beretta group, Stoeger Industries is a Turkish-based manufacturer of a variety of shotguns and handguns. The company’s new tactical models are based on two of its popular platforms, the semi-automatic M3000 and the pump-action P3000. The M3000 is an inertia-operated design that uses a rotating bolt that locks into the barrel extension. It is chambered for 12-ga. 3” shells.

The M3000 Tactical optimizes the company’s reliable inertia-driven shotgun for self-defense.

In tactical guise, it has an 18.5” barrel that is threaded for Beretta/Benelli Mobil chokes and comes supplied with a cylinder bore extended “breacher” tube. Capacity is four rounds in its underbarrel magazine tube. The aluminum receiver has a Tungsten Cerakote finish and features an enlarged ejection port. All controls, including the charging handle, bolt release, and safety are oversized for easier manipulation. Sights consist of an adjustable aperture “ghost ring” rear and a front post, both with protective ears.

The receiver has a Picatinny rail for optics, as well as a cut that allows for the use of red dot sights with an RMR footprint. Furniture is polymer and the buttstock has a cheek riser, built-in slings swivels, QD swivel spigots and M-Lok slots for attaching accessories. The fore-end also has M-Lok slots. The Stoeger M3000 Tactical weighs 6.8 lbs. and has an MSRP of $649.

The P3000 Tactical is a pump-action 12 gauge with a 3” chamber. Except for the action type, its features including furniture, sights, optic mounts and magazine capacity, are the same as the M3000 Tactical. The P3000’s aluminum alloy receiver has an olive drab (OD) Cerakote finish. Weighing 6.4 lbs., it has an MSRP of $449.
