Taurus has launched the TX9 polymer-frame, striker-fired 9 mm family of handguns. This series of full-size, compact and subcompact pistols represents the next evolution of Taurus’s TX platform, formerly only available as the TX22 rimfire, but now in centerfire variants. Taurus delivers this new pistol as a reliable, professional-grade firearm purpose-built to perform when it matters most and deliver ultimate reliability, regardless of intended use.

Becoming more and more familiar in the handgun world, the TX9 uses a serialized chassis as the fire-control group which allows a wide range of customization and optimization for the individual shooter. In addition to this modularity, four different-size backstraps are included with each size handgun to best fit the TX9 to the shooter’s hand, whether it be the full size pistol, compact or subcompact.

Up top, Taurus has prepared the TX9 for easy optics-mounting capability with the T.O.R.O. system. Four different optics-compatible plates representing the vast majority of commonly available pistol-slide-mounted optics on the market. Simply remove the cover plate, add the adaptor and attach a powered electro-optic sight to configure the TX9 with your optic of choice.

Taurus’s new TX9 also offers forward and aft cocking serrations to facilitate simple administrative functions, ambidextrous slide-release levers and a magazine release that can be swapped for right- and left-handed shooters. There’s an accessory rail for lights and/or lasers on the dustcover of each pistol, and a bladed-safety trigger to protect against inadvertent discharge should the pistol be dropped.

The full-size TX9 pistol has a 4.5-inch barrel, 17-round magazine and four-slot accessory rail. The compact TX9 offers a 4-inch barrel, 15-round magazine and three-slot accessory rail. Lastly, the subcompact pistol comes with a 3.4-inch barrel, 13-round magazine and a single-slot accessory rail. Each pistol comes in a hard case with four backstraps and two magazines.

TX9 Highlights

Serialized Chassis System: Modular and future-ready. Easily swap grip modules, make upgrades  and stay within single-point legal compliance.

Optics-Ready T.O.R.O. Slide: Duty-ready right out of the box. Shared optics-cut geometry ensures compatibility with existing mounting plates for efficient setup.
