A New Orleans man, 65-year-old Vener Young, has been arrested in St. Bernard Parish amid allegations of serious drug and gun crimes, including possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and fentanyl. The St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that during the investigation, they found a stolen Smith and Wesson firearm, along with a significant cache of drugs and cash totaling over $102,000 at Young’s residence.
This arrest highlights ongoing concerns about drug trafficking and firearm offenses in the region. Young faces numerous charges, including being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, among others, and is currently held without bond at St. Bernard Parish Prison.
