Jenard Walton, a New Orleans resident with a significant felony history, is sentenced to 37 months in prison for illegal firearm possession. During a federal search of his home on March 19, 2024, law enforcement uncovered a nine-millimeter pistol hidden in a kitchen cabinet and a stolen .40 caliber handgun concealed in a secret compartment, along with nearly $38,000 in cash.

Walton’s past criminal convictions, including a previous federal firearms offense, led to enhancements in his sentencing under Project Safe Neighborhoods, a federal initiative aimed at combating gun violence. His case highlights the ongoing efforts of local authorities, including the FBI and the Slidell Police, to address violent crime in the area.
