In 2025, Hunters for the Hungry programs across the United States will have extra support from the National Rifle Association, thanks to NRA Foundation donors. In total, $100,000 from NRA will be awarded in the form of grants of up to $2,000 apiece to cover the cost of processing, shipping and distributing donated meat to families in need.

“America has a long tradition of embracing the vast resources hunting provides as a means for feeding family and friends. We are honored to play a role in that noble process,” said Josh Savani, executive director of NRA General Operations. “The NRA has long been one of the biggest advocates, supporters and funders of the various independent groups that facilitate this important endeavor.”

Last year, Hunters for the Hungry provided an estimated 1.7 million pounds of game meat to individuals, families and food banks across the United States. In total, the loose affiliation of approximately 40 state and local programs have contributed an estimated total of 45 million pounds of wild game meat to those in need.
