Registration is now open for the eighth NRA World Shooting Championship, which is sponsored by Walther Arms and will be held at Camp Atterbury, Ind., from September 30 to October 4. Approximately $250,000 in cash and other prizes are available to competitors, with $10,000 being awarded to each stage winner and $25,000 being awarded to the overall winner, who also earns the title of “World Shooting Champion” among a field of both professional and amateur competitive shooters.

“The NRA World Shooting Championship is the ultimate test of skill, bringing together the top shooters to compete across multiple disciplines,” said Josh Savani, executive director of NRA General Operations. “This annual event showcases the diversity and excitement of the shooting sports and welcomes amateur and professional shooters who aim to be crowned the ‘World’s Greatest Shooter.’ NRA is proud to host this world-class competition, and we are grateful for the continued support from Walther Arms and our industry partners who help make this match a resounding success.”

Across three days of shooting and 12 stages, competitors will be challenged in various competitive disciplines, and all will be using factory firearms rather than their personal competition arms. Stages include Precision Standing Air Gun, Sporting Clays, America’s Rifle Challenge, IDPA, PRS Rimfire, USPSA and more. Additionally, six side matches provide extra opportunities to win, and there will even be a “winner-take-all” Mystery Team Shoot.

“We’re proud to once again support the NRA World Shooting Championship—an event that brings together the very best from across the shooting sports,” said Jens Krogh, vice president of marketing and product development at Walther Arms, Inc. “This championship reflects the spirit of excellence and versatility that defines both the competitors and our brand. Supporting NRA 2.0 and events like this is part of our ongoing commitment to the future of the shooting community.”

Space is limited, and volunteers for the match are still needed. For more information, visit wsc.nra.org.
