Opelousas Police Probe Weekend Shooting Incident

Opelousas police are investigating a shooting that occurred just after midnight on Saturday in the 1000 block of East South Street, leaving one man with non-life-threatening injuries. The victim, who was taken to a local hospital, reported being approached by two unknown men before the incident took place.

As authorities gather evidence from the scene and speak with the victim, they are also reviewing potential digital evidence, including social media messages.
