The Orlando Police Department has released body-worn camera footage capturing the fatal shooting of 62-year-old Nick Raymond Bingham, who was armed with an “AR-15-style rifle.” The incident occurred early on March 1, when officers responded to reports of a suspect pounding on a door and carrying a firearm. The 911 caller recognized Bingham and expressed fear for their safety, noting his history of being armed, which set the stage for the tense confrontation that followed.

As police approached the scene, Bingham emerged from a doorway with the rifle in hand, despite commands to show his hands. The released video reveals multiple angles of the encounter, including audio from the 911 call. Following the shooting, officers attempted to provide medical assistance, but Bingham was later pronounced dead at the hospital. An independent review by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement is underway, alongside an internal investigation by the Orlando Police Department, to examine the circumstances surrounding the use of deadly force.
