Have you ever wanted to squeeze just a little more velocity out of your hunting rig? You like your rifle and the cartridge it shoots, and you don’t want to make a big change. But adding 150 feet-per-second of bullet velocity would increase your effective range and make you more comfortable taking that shot across the canyon. You aren’t alone. Legendary wildcatter P.O. Ackley had a similar impulse when he pioneered the “Ackley Improved” (AI) family of wildcat cartridges. Rather than invent an entirely new cartridge, Ackley took an existing case and fired it in a rifle with an Ackley Improved…

The act of preparing for an emergency is almost universally portrayed in popular culture as a solitary, dramatic, and often paranoid pursuit. Previously, I have shown how the US dollar banking system is in the midst of a bank run. We have entered the critical part of this bank run. The US dollar banking system has become too debased, and nations are running to an asset like gold as a reserve asset instead. It can be described as very similar to the events since Nixon ended the direct convertibility to gold in 1971. In the Gold/Monetary Base chart (below) you can see currently how a similar pattern has developed to the 1971 end of convertibility. The US central bank has no promise…

The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) has moved its popular auctions to GunBroker.com, an online firearm marketplace that launched in 1999. The collaboration is part of the website’s non-profit initiative, which provides CMP and other qualified organizations a free online store and hosts their charity auctions free of charge. Every dollar raised through these auctions goes directly to the organization. “The CMP’s intention in partnering with GunBroker.com was to reach a broader audience with our auction program, but we never could have anticipated just how popular our items would be on the site,” said Chris Hord, CMP chief product officer. “We’re greatly encouraged with the…
