Officers responded to a report of a purse theft at a hotel, quickly tracking down a man in his 20s with the stolen item near a gas station, where he engaged in a foot chase upon spotting the police.
As the suspect reached for a handgun tucked in his waistband, a police officer intervened by striking him with a patrol vehicle, resulting in non-life-threatening injuries. Following his recovery at a nearby hospital, the man will face multiple charges including armed robbery and aggravated assault against a police officer.
