Toby Canham, a photographer for The New York Post, is shot in the head with a rubber bullet while covering violent protests in Los Angeles. The incident occurs as he films the clashes between police and protesters from an elevated position near the 101 Freeway, where he captures the moment on video just moments before being hit.

Wearing his press credentials, Canham suffers significant injuries, including a large bruise on his forehead and whiplash. The attack coincides with a tense weekend of anti-ICE protests that have seen thousands take to the streets, prompting the involvement of National Guard troops and, more recently, a call for additional military support. Despite providing no provocation, Canham expresses his disbelief at being targeted, emphasizing the danger posed to journalists covering the unrest.
