Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commends the Pakistan Armed Forces for their rapid response during a recent escalation in hostilities with India, where they reportedly “silenced the enemy’s guns within hours.” Following an unprovoked cross-border attack that resulted in civilian casualties, Pakistan executed “Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos,” successfully targeting multiple Indian military installations and ultimately leading to a U.S.-mediated ceasefire. Sharif expressed hope that this development would pave the way for dialogue on unresolved issues such as the Kashmir dispute.

During his address to the nation, Sharif highlighted the bravery of the military and thanked U.S. President Donald Trump for his role in facilitating the ceasefire. He noted the strategic importance of this peace agreement, stating that it showcases Pakistan’s resolve and capability to defend its sovereignty while advocating for negotiations in the region. The conflict underscores the ongoing challenges in South Asian geopolitics, making future discussions critical for lasting peace.
