Springfield police have arrested two men following a traffic stop in which they seized a loaded firearm and various drugs, including cocaine and heroin. The incident unfolded on Adams Street when officers conducted a stop due to a defective headlight and subsequently discovered over $3,200 in cash along with 28 grams of crack-cocaine and 10 grams of powder cocaine in the vehicle.
Driver Thomas Rodriguez, 32, faces a series of serious charges, including possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and trafficking cocaine. His passenger, Bobby Guzman, 48, is also charged with carrying a loaded firearm without a license. The Springfield Police Neighborhood Stabilization Bureau executed the arrests, underscoring ongoing efforts to combat illegal firearms and drug trafficking in the area.
