The Chapel Hill Police Department is actively searching for three men believed to be involved in a series of violent crimes, including an armed carjacking and an ATM robbery that took place just days apart. The incidents began when a woman reported being followed from a Bank of America ATM on Willow Drive, where her cash and credit cards were stolen at gunpoint on Thursday night.
Just a few days later, another armed robbery occurred early Saturday morning at The Siena Hotel, where the same group of suspects reportedly carjacked a vehicle at gunpoint from two victims. This vehicle was recovered shortly thereafter in Durham, although no injuries were reported in either event. Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding these incidents to contact them or submit tips anonymously.
