Albuquerque police shot and injured a suspect accused of firing at them early Monday morning on westbound Interstate 40, near the Route 66 Casino. The incident followed a lengthy pursuit, and officers discovered the man allegedly armed with a gun inside a vehicle they had been tracking since the previous evening.
Authorities report that the suspect is connected to a shooting incident that occurred Sunday night on Bridge Boulevard and has a documented history of domestic violence. During the encounter, police also found a woman in the car whom they believe may have been there against her will. The Multi-Agency Task Force has launched an investigation as eastbound I-40 remains closed to traffic.
