A Richmond man, Demario Avanti Henderson, is sentenced to seven years in federal prison for drug trafficking and firearm-related offenses, following a series of undercover operations that exposed his criminal activities. Court documents reveal that on consecutive dates in January 2024, Henderson sold fentanyl and cocaine while carrying a loaded handgun, culminating in his arrest by law enforcement shortly after the second transaction.

With a troubling history of 17 prior convictions—including assault, larceny, and the illegal possession of firearms—Henderson’s case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, an initiative aimed at reducing gun violence and crime in local communities. This sentencing highlights ongoing efforts to combat trafficking and illegal possession of firearms in Richmond and beyond.
