A recent KIRO 7 investigation uncovers a troubling rise in gun violence among teenagers in King County, Washington, where 58 youths aged 11 to 17 have been killed since 2017, with most incidents involving other teens pulling the trigger. The report highlights a disturbing pattern of repeated offenses, as many teens, like a 15-year-old arrested with a stolen firearm after a drive-by shooting, are released under current state laws that allow multiple arrests for gun possession without significant consequences.

This study sheds light on a critical issue impacting public safety and youth reform.
