Law enforcement officials have identified the man shot and killed by San Diego police snipers as 59-year-old Eric Kukalow, who allegedly threatened bystanders with a handgun in the Scripps Ranch area last month. The incident occurred on March 25, shortly after police responded to reports of a man pointing a gun at construction workers and a pest-control employee on Angelique Street.
Despite police orders to drop the weapon, Kukalow did not comply, leading to the fatal confrontation. Authorities are continuing their investigation and urge anyone with information to contact the Homicide Unit or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
