Edgar Bribiescapuga, a 32-year-old resident of Santa Maria, is sentenced to 26 years in state prison for his role in an armed robbery and shooting that occurred on November 23, 2023. Following a jury’s guilty verdict, he is held accountable for multiple serious offenses, including personally discharging a firearm during the robbery and assaulting a ranch owner who caught him in the act.

During the incident, Bribiescapuga attempted to flee with $7,200 worth of stolen property, firing two shots at the ranch owner, who escaped unharmed. His co-defendant, Alejandro Maldonado, crashes their getaway vehicle after a high-speed chase and faces significant prison time as well. This case highlights the dangers of firearm possession and the impact of violent crime within the community.
