A 29-year-old man from Shaker Heights, Charles Fritz, has been indicted by a Cuyahoga County grand jury for allegedly committing 16 armed robberies across Cleveland in just five months. Fritz faces a staggering 134 charges, including aggravated robbery, kidnapping, and multiple weapons offenses, with incidents spanning from March to July 2023.
According to prosecutors, Fritz operated with a consistent pattern, often posing as a customer before threatening employees at gunpoint. In one notable incident, he robbed a funeral home by first asking about arrangements for his grandmother before demanding the employee’s personal belongings, including a wedding band. His arrest by Parma police in April marked the end of a crime spree that has left local neighborhoods on edge.
