Isaiah Chase, a 27-year-old from Silver Spring, is sentenced to seven years in federal prison for his involvement in an armed robbery of the Busboys and Poets café and bookstore in Washington, D.C., back in February 2022. Chase pleaded guilty to brandishing a firearm during a violent crime and received a total of 84 months in prison along with five years of supervised release, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

During the robbery, Chase and two accomplices entered the café brandishing firearms while employees were closing for the night, demanding money and ultimately stealing keys to the establishment. Chase was arrested later that year, at which time police discovered multiple loaded guns and ammunition in his residence. The investigation into the other individuals involved in the robbery remains ongoing.
