Springfield Armory has introduced eight new models in its TRP 1911 line, all of which are outfitted with the Agency Optic System (AOS), enabling the mounting of red-dot optics. Additionally, the release marks the first time that Springfield has offered TRP models chambered for the popular 9 mm Luger cartridge.

“The TRP has long been one of the most respected 1911 pistols not only in the Springfield line but also in the broader 1911 community,” said Steve Kramer, vice president of marketing for Springfield Armory. “With these new optics-ready TRP AOS variants and the first TRP pistols in 9 mm ever, Springfield Armory is taking a proven classic in an exciting new direction.”

Springfield Armory worked with Agency Arms to develop its AOS optics-mounting system, which uses a collection of adapter plates to accommodate a wide range of popular red-dot optic footprints. Each plate also incorporates a serrated rear sight that is high enough to view through the window of a mounted optic, making for an easy back-up sighting system. Each pistol in the TRP AOS line ships with a cover plate, and customers receive a coupon to purchase the optic-mounting plate of their choice for a discounted price of $49.

Two configurations are offered within the Springfield TRP AOS line, one full-size and one compact. The full-size model is equipped with a 5″ barrel and features a Picatinny rail on the frame’s dustcover for mounting a light or laser. The frame is also constructed from forged steel. The compact Carry Contour model is outfitted with a 4.25″ barrel and is built with a forged aluminum frame to save weight. Each model is available in either an all-black or Coyote Brown Cerakote finish, and both models are also available in either .45 ACP or 9 mm Luger.

The suggested retail price on the Springfield Armory TRP AOS 1911 line is $1,999. For more information, visit the Springfield Armory website.
