Armed Citizen® Today

A homeowner in Fort Worth, Texas, defended himself from a trio of robbers in the early morning hours of Friday, July 25.

Officers were called to the scene following reports of an attempted home invasion at 3 a.m. According to the caller, several men broke into the home wearing ski masks and were carrying guns. The armed homeowner opened fire, and the suspects fired back, prompting the homeowner to escape the property through an open window and then call 911. The suspects also fled the scene.

Shortly after police arrived at the home, another 911 call came from a block away. The caller was identified as a 23-year-old male who reported that he had been shot and needed assistance. Officers identified him as a suspect in the home invasion, and he was transported to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Police believe there were two other suspects involved in the home invasion, and they remain at large. The wounded suspect faces charges of burglary of a habitation.
