A man was shot by an armed victim after he attempted to run over several people in the front yard of a Columbus, Ohio, home, according to Columbus Police.
Early on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024, an argument in the front lawn of an East Columbus home turned violent when the man allegedly attempted to drive over three people during the verbal spat. One of the man’s intended victims fired shots at the 32-year-old assailant as he drove the vehicle up onto the grass outside the residence, injuring him. Police say the shots were fired in self-defense.
The suspect was taken to an area hospital for treatment of his wounds and is now being held in jail. He faces three counts of felonious assault. (nbc4i.com; Columbus, Ohio; 10/5/24)

Jeffery Wallis, who lives above a Johnsonburg, Pa., hardware store, was awakened one night by thumping sounds from below. Creeping downstairs, he spied two men apparently scraping ammunition into a bucket. Wallis returned upstairs, grabbed his .22-cal. rifle, told his wife to call the police and then captured the crooks as they attempted to leave the store. They were apprehended with two buckets of ammo and 16 handguns. (The Daily Press; St. Mary’s, Pa.)
