A store employee in Tucson, Ariz., defended himself by shooting his attacker, according to local police.

On Friday, April 18, the 39-year-old suspect entered the the store and then, later, stepped outside the store entrance with an employee to look at some merchandise on sale. At that point, the suspect physically assaulted the 24-year-old employee, who then drew a firearm and shot the attacker.

After the assault ended, the employee called police and identified himself as the shooter. Police arrived to find the suspect with gunshot wounds, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The employee was treated for minor wounds at a local hospital and has not been charged. The investigation remains ongoing. (13 News; Tucson, Ariz.; 4/19/25)

Guns drawn, three men sauntered into Lloyd House’s Apopka, Fla., market and demanded money. When one intruder threatened a 13-year-old cashier, House swept up a pistol from a drawer and shot him twice. House then wounded the other two thieves, who returned gunfire as they fled. Both were later arrested, along with two other men who were waiting in a getaway car. (Sentinel Star, Orlando, Fla.)
