Three men are arrested following a significant drug bust executed by the Butte Interagency Narcotics Task Force (BINTF) in Chico, where agents reportedly seize nearly a quarter pound of fentanyl and methamphetamine from the suspects’ vehicle. The operation centers around 41-year-old Wesley Woodworth, who is accused of trafficking fentanyl into Butte County.
In addition to the narcotics found during a traffic stop, BINTF agents discover illegal firearms and other drug-related items at Woodworth’s home. Among the seized items are over 106 grams of fentanyl, a ghost gun, and heroin, leading to multiple charges against Woodworth, including transportation and possession of fentanyl for sale. His accomplices, Richard Yocum and Dominic Dornay, face charges as accessories to his drug trafficking activities. A potential increase in Woodworth’s prison sentence is expected due to Proposition 36’s implications on fentanyl trafficking.
