In the world of concealed-carry and self-defense handguns, 2025 may be “The Year of the Comp.” The value of a muzzle compensator on a duty or concealed handgun has been recognized by many handgunners, and manufacturers have been quick to give consumers what they want. Turkish manufacturer Tisas is joining those ranks with its new-for-2025 Duty Comp, Carry Comp and Tactical Comp.

PX-9 compensated models have a single port in their barrel and slide.

All three pistols are based around Tisas’ PX-9 2.0 striker-fired, polymer-frame, 9 mm semi-automatic pistol, as imported into this country by SDS Arms. Common features include an aluminum flat-faced tactical trigger, match-grade barrel, NATO-spec nickel-coated internal components, a QPQ finish on the barrel and slide, an optics cut on the slide that uses an RMR footprint, SIG-pattern magazines, interchangeable grip panels and backstraps. All are available with an optional manual safety.

For the compensated models, a single port in the 12-o’clock position mates with a matching cut in the slide. Additional features on comp models include a removable magazine well and extended controls. Each PX-9 pistol comes in a hard case with one standard and one extended magazine, cleaning kit, magazine loader and holster.

The new compensated versions are offered in three different sizes. The PX-9 Carry Comp has a 3.5-inch barrel, an overall length of 6.7 inches, height of 5.25 inches and weighs 25 ozs. It feeds from SIG P228-pattern magazines and has an MSRP of $563. The PX-9 Duty Comp has a 4.11-inch barrel and an ambidextrous slide release, and it feeds from SIG P226-pattern magazines. It weighs 28 ozs. and has an MSRP of $523. The PX-9 Tactical Comp has a 5.1-inch barrel, an ambidextrous slide release and feeds from SIG P226-pattern magazines. It weighs 28 ozs. and has an MSRP of $540.
