The New York State Police have identified Trooper Jason Flynn as the officer involved in an officer-involved shooting in South Glens Falls on Wednesday. The incident escalated after suspect Billy Cassell III crashed his vehicle and allegedly brandished a firearm at troopers, prompting Flynn to respond with gunfire, striking Cassell in the shoulder.

Cassell, who is now in custody at Saratoga County Jail without bail, faces multiple charges, including menacing and criminal possession of a weapon. This incident underscores the dangers law enforcement officers face while on duty and raises questions about the circumstances leading to the confrontation.
