San Jose police announce the arrests of 19-year-old Daniel Pena and 37-year-old Mario Munoz-Hernandez following the seizure of multiple illegal firearms from a home in March. The investigation began after reports of gang activity near Ocala Avenue and South King Road, leading to the discovery of surveillance footage of Pena, who is prohibited from owning firearms and is also linked to an armed robbery earlier this year.

During a search of Pena’s home, officers found two privately manufactured firearms and an unregistered AK-47 among other items, including cryptocurrency wallets and over $20,000 in cash. After identifying Munoz-Hernandez through a locked safe containing additional weapons, police secured an arrest warrant, leading to his capture on April 4. The case highlights ongoing concerns about illegal firearms and gang-related activity in the region.
