Two men are in custody following an armed robbery outside a jewelry store in Hamtramck, Michigan, where they allegedly targeted three victims on Monday. Leon Devonte Richardson and Michael Edward-Martell face 19 felony charges, including armed robbery and carrying a concealed weapon, with potential penalties of life in prison due to their habitual offender status.
The incident unfolded when the suspects exited a white Nissan Rogue, stealing a necklace and purse at gunpoint, while also chasing a victim on crutches. Local police apprehended one suspect shortly after the robbery, and after a brief standoff, the second surrendered. Both men are currently held on a $500,000 cash/surety bond, which includes house arrest conditions if released.
