Two Mississippi men, Dawson Brown and Jase D. Smith, are ordered to pay over $15,000 in restitution for poaching white-tailed deer in Ohio, after pleading guilty to several violations. Brown faces a staggering $13,169.37 in restitution and is sentenced to 390 days in jail—30 days to be served—with additional penalties including a three-year suspension of his hunting privileges.

Smith, who also faces significant fines and a 30-day jail sentence, committed similar offenses that included hunting without permission and failing to check harvested deer.
