Two men were injured in a shooting in Chicago’s Grand Crossing neighborhood on Sunday morning, according to police reports. The victims, a 66-year-old and a 70-year-old, were outside a business in the 800 block of E. 79th Street when multiple suspects exited a dark-colored Jeep SUV and opened fire, striking the 66-year-old in critical areas and the 70-year-old in the buttocks.
Both victims were rushed to the University of Chicago Hospital, with the younger victim listed in critical condition and the older one in fair condition. Authorities have yet to make any arrests as the suspects fled the scene in the getaway vehicle. Area Two Detectives continue to investigate this alarming situation that has raised concerns in the community.
