US Army’s Dark Eagle Hypersonic Missile Revealed

The U.S. Army’s newly designated Dark Eagle hypersonic missile can exceed speeds of Mach 5, reaching over 3,836 mph, and has a reported range of 1,725 miles. Designed as an intermediate-range surface-to-surface weapon, the Dark Eagle’s capabilities make it a formidable addition to the U.S. military arsenal, especially as global adversaries advance their own hypersonic technologies.

This advanced missile system, developed by Lockheed Martin and Dynetics, features a dual-part design that includes the Common Hypersonic Glide Body (C-HGB) and a booster. Although the Army successfully tested the Dark Eagle in April 2025, much of its operational details remain classified, leaving open the possibility that its range and speed could surpass public estimates. Such advancements signal a significant stride in military technology aimed at securing U.S. interests.
