The University of South Florida (USF) police have issued a No Trespass Order to Victor Anthony Rodriguez, a male with no affiliation to the university, after a gun case and magazines were found in the Fine Arts Building. Recovery of the items occurred on April 19, with body camera footage revealing that the gun case contained three empty magazines and was discovered in a men’s restroom garbage can.
Rodriguez, 35, who has a prior criminal history involving multiple felonies, was initially uncooperative when questioned by officers. Notably, items found nearby included books with provoking titles such as “Mein Kampf” and “Weapons of Terror.” Despite denying ownership of the gun-related materials, Rodriguez later admitted to possessing some of the bags recovered by police, complicating the investigation. The police confirmed there is no active threat to the public, but the investigation remains significant in understanding campus safety dynamics.
